The 2008 USATF Minnesota Cross-Country circuit was decided tonight at Majors Sports Cafe. Attached is a listing of the races, dates and distances selected. Each race (with the exception of the Fort Snelling Relays) will consist of a men's and women's race.
The USATF Minnesota Championship, will take place on the weekend of November 7th/8th or on November 15th. Race distance and race location are being determined at this time. The goal is to find a date and venue to have a men's 10k and women's 6k. A location, distance and date will be decided before August 1st.
Other rulings to be approved during tonight's meeting are the following:The XC team circuit rules will remain the same as they were in 2007. An open men's and women's team will consist of five (5) scoring members. A masters men's team will consist of five (5) scoring members. A womens master's and all grand master's teams will consist of three (3) scoring members. The one exception will be the Fort Snelling Relays, which will consist of five scoring members for all teams.
Scoring will remain the same in relation to the 2007 XC circuit. If three (3) teams score during a race, the first place team will receive four (4) points, 2nd place will receive three (3) points, and so forth. The USATF MN Championships will count as double points.
